I worked in colored pencil on a vintage My Little Pony coloring book page (c. 1983).
This work engages themes of gender identity and queerness through imagery rooted in childhood. By intervening in a mass-produced coloring book, I’m examining how early visual culture shapes ideas of gender, fantasy, and belonging — and what it means to revisit those frameworks later in life, with greater self-awareness and agency.
