I painted a nude on an antique ledger from Portsmouth, NH, 1838. Her hair is unfinished and her face looks painted, but there’s something I love about this piece, just like this.

The letters of the alphabetical index have been individually cut and adhered, one by one, to the edges of the pages, with the pages to follow trimmed in order that each letter be visible from the front. This meticulous detail is art, all on it’s own.
