I Keep Looking

I Keep Looking

$650.00

I worked in charcoal on antique paper dating to approximately the early 20th century. The surface shows natural foxing and retains a small tear along the lower edge, details that speak to the paper’s age and prior life.

The figure’s face is cropped from view, shifting attention to the body and its posture rather than identity. Set against a deep black ground, the form is defined through a balance of light and line. Creases, patina, and damage remain visible, allowing the material history of the paper to participate in the emotional weight of the drawing.
