The Lobster

The Lobster
$1,100.00
I painted a figure in gouache directly onto an antique British fishing-book lithograph of a lobster (c. 1920).
Lobsters are symbols of regeneration—they survive by shedding what no longer fits and rebuilding themselves. I painted this while trying to do the same. Armored on the outside, soft and vulnerable underneath. That tension is the heart of this piece.
