Neon Moon

Neon Moon

$1,200.00

This is an original gouache figure painting on an antique stereoview of the moon.

This stereoview was made from negatives taken by Prof. H. Draper, with his silvered glass telescope, around 1880. A stereoview is a photograph consisting of two nearly identical images side-by-side. When viewed through a stereoscope, each eye sees a different image, and the brain fuses them into a single, three-dimensional image.

The painting measures 7 × 3.5 inches. It has been preserved in dark wood gallery frame, float-mounted over black linen. The final dimensions of the piece are 11 × 8 inches. This artwork arrives framed and ready to hang.
