I painted a figure in gouache directly onto a 1913 antique postcard.

This work considers the intimacy of correspondence and the vulnerability involved in being seen. By working on a handwritten postcard, I’m interested in the desire to send yourself to someone — the impulse to be present across distance, and the charge of knowing the paper has passed through another person’s hands.
