I painted on a copy of The New York Almanac from 1894. There was a regal ship on the cover (18 years before the Titanic), and I was inspired by a woman that might be on the prow of a ship. I gave her lots of gorgeous draping — a tribute to the Statue of Liberty (which was only eight years old when this book was published).

Inside, there are creepy drawings of babies and ads for Pitcher's Castoria. I paged through this thoroughly before sending it off for framing. I chose a rose gold frame in which to preserve this piece forever. It ships framed and ready to hang.

The art measures 4.5 in. x 7.5 in., and the frame measures 11 in. × 14 in.
